Aswin plans to become a physician in order to positively affect peoples’ lives. He participated in the Simons Summer Research Program and became an Intel Science Talent Search semifinalist for his research in yeast molecular genetics, diabetes, and obesity. He is also an NSHSS STEM Scholarship recipient. At age 17, Aswin earned an Associate of Arts degree and an Associate of Science degree while dually enrolled as a high school student. Most recently, Aswin has advanced to the semi-finalist level for Tylenol Future Care Scholarship, a competition in which only undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Aswin meets the scholarship’s eligibility requirements due to his completing 72 credit hours at the University of Cincinnati as a high school student. As a sophomore in high school, Aswin scored perfect scores on both the SAT and the ACT (http://www.thevillagernewspaper.com/Villager/2_21_13WS.pdf). He began taking AP courses and AP exams in 2013, and has since scored a 5 on 22 of his 23 AP exams.

When Aswin isn’t busy seemingly effortlessly scoring flawless scores on standardized tests, he is running track, participating in Speech and Debate, Quiz Bowl, and the National Forensic League. Aswin is also an Eagle Scout. He will major in medical sciences, and, undoubtedly, take the University of Cincinnati by storm this fall!
